April 2024 (10 of Pentacles R)

Stop focusing on money and pay attention to the things in your life you have to be grateful for. This might look like small moments or gestures between people you love. Having enough food on the table. Or a purpose in life that brings you joy. If you’re experiencing setbacks or trials in regards to your finances, or acquiring something that speaks to your social status in the world, you’re looking in the wrong place for happiness or validation. You don’t have to be a materialistic person to get caught up in this trap. Sometimes it can even manifest as chasing the idea of what you think you “should” be doing in relationship to other people. Once you find the right path for you, your financial issues or lack thereof will fall into place. Then you’ll either find a way to get the abundance you require. Or you’ll realize that you don’t need as much as you thought you did. Acquiring things for the right reason is the best way to bring them towards you and switch the energy that you are currently attracting.

Shadow Work Questions:
  • What other things are important to me besides money?
  • What am I trying to do right now financially, and what do I think that says to other people?
  • What is my relationship with money like?
  • What beliefs do I have about money that may or may not be outdated?

stress - osho zen tarot

March 2024 (Stress)

There’s a lot of balls in the air and you’re trying not to drop any of them. Sometimes in life things get heavy. It’s a natural part of the process and flow. As you know this can feel overwhelming and difficult. Part of the issue stems from the pressure you are continuing to put on yourself. Stop worrying so much about being perfect and just get the job done. A true creator has a strong inner critic that will never be satisfied. No matter how amazing the end product is. Remember, there’s nothing so special about you that it exempts you from being human. Even the people that look like they have it all together have found themselves in your position more than a few times. When things don’t turn out the way you hoped, this is an indicator that your expectations are too high. And the control you are trying to exert over a situation does not need your micromanagement. The outcome of everything you are experiencing will serendipitously lead you to the next step. No matter how imperfect or disappointing you perceive the end results to be.

Shadow Work Questions:
  • What role does perfectionism play in my life?
  • What would happen if I did what I wanted without trying to control the outcome?
  • How are my expectations creating unnecessary disappointment?

5 of Cups - Light Seer's Tarot

February 2024 (5 of Cups)

It’s okay to feel disappointed, but it’s not ok to get stuck in a space where you’re feeling sorry for yourself. What you’re currently experiencing is a profound moment of grief for all of the things that haven’t gone exactly as expected. The hopefulness you used to feel has been MIA for quite some time. In its place frustration, anger and unhappiness are lingering. However, these feelings are all secondary emotions. What you are really feeling at this time is loss and sadness for what was. What you are experiencing emotionally is VALID. You’ve been through quite a bit. But if you don’t change your attitude quickly, expect to go down the drain with everything else you’ve ready lost. It’s important to make space for grief and optimism. Even though they seem like opposite and conflicting emotions. You can let go of the past and embrace the future without losing yourself in the process. Spend some time sitting with your feelings process them fully. And find moments where you can appreciate the experience and look for any new opportunities this has created.

Shadow Work Questions:
  • Where are you getting trapped in your emotions, and how is this preventing you from moving forward?
  • How can you express forgiveness and compassion for the way life has unfolded for you recently?
  • What things do you still enjoy and how can you work on bringing more of that into your life?

playfulness - ohso zen tarot

January 2024 (Playfulness R)

It’s time to stop being so serious or you’ll start getting more wrinkles than you know what to do with. Life is a delicate balance of responsibilities, obligations, and personal downtime. In the quiet moments you have to yourself, you’re not having as much fun as you should be. When you stop doing things that feed your soul, it creates a lot of lower vibrational energy around you. And eventually brings you to a place where you start experiencing negative emotions. While most of us cannot disregard all of the responsibilities we have to be accountable for, that’s not all there is to life. Our spirits were born to play, have fun, spend time in nature and connect with other people who make us feel good. It’s important to ask yourself how many of these things you are doing these days, and look at how you can divvy up your time more constructively.

Shadow Work Questions:
  • How much balance do I feel like my life has?
  • What sort of things in my childhood did I enjoy doing that I could still do now?
  • What is something fun I would like to do or try if I knew no one else would find out about it?
