June 2023 (The Hermit R)
You’re trying to process something difficult that happened by withdrawing into your own little world. It’s important to take space in order to work through challenging or painful moments in life. The quiet helps us hear our thoughts more clearly. And we are less likely to get distracted by all the outside noise and other people’s opinions. The problem with this method is that we can easily become stuck in this space, because it is more comfortable than forcing ourselves to go back out into the world. Which is the very same place where difficult experiences happen. Where life is stressful and we cannot always protect ourselves from the lessons we need to learn and the unkindness of others. Remember that your goal is to heal, not to escape. This means we must deal with the wound as is. And go as far back into our past as we need to so we can begin healing it at its source. Your body is trying to let you know it needs your help in order to regain its sense of peace. Make sure you’re listening.
Shadow Work Questions:
- What part of yourself is asking for healing at this time?
- How can you honor your body by addressing the specific emotions that come up for you?
- What patterns can you find that are similar to the situation at hand?

May 2023 (Exhaustion)
You’re working too hard trying to get ahead and catering to everyone else’s demands. In doing so you have become mentally, physically and emotionally exhausted. You cannot live your entire life as if it is a business. You have also overestimated the level of importance you have as a part of this larger machine. While everyone has value and something special to bring to the table, you don’t have to pin the rise and fall of the entire thing on whether or not you’re working hard enough. Spend some time resetting your priorities and changing your perspective. If you take a day off the world does not end. If you stop doing your job or step back from a responsibility, there is always another person who can pick up the slack. You have placed an unreasonable level of self-importance on who you are and what you do. And in turn, you are not enjoying your life as it was meant to be lived. Take a step back from everyone else and a step forward towards yourself. Start doing more things for you and incorporating some fun into your space. You’ll be feeling like your old self again before you know it!
Shadow Work Questions:
- What responsibilities can I let go of in order to release some stress?
- What validation am I looking for when I put so much pressure on myself to succeed?
- What are some things I like to do for fun and how can I make more time for that?

April 2023 (3 of Pentacles)
There is no “I” in team. Get ready to become an integral part of a group or community. When like-minded people work together lots of things can be successfully accomplished. Right now, you are finding your way into new spaces that will help you achieve your goals, hopes and dreams. As well as making your day-to-day life a little easier. Expanding your community is imperative part of your growth process. In addition to the benefits to your personal life, you will also learn how to communicate more effectively with others. Especially those who are different from you. Something about the way you mingle with others is asking you to be looked at from a more introspective level. This is not to say you’re a poor communicator. But something about the relationships you develop with others is in need of a few tweaks and adjustments. Keep an open mind as you move through this new space. What you learn now will be the building blocks of your future.
Shadow Work Questions:
- What communities could I be a part of and how with this benefit everyone involved?
- What are people’s responses trying to show me about my communication style?
- How is working with others teaching me more about myself?

March 2023 (Completion)
Something you’ve been working very hard towards is about to fall into place in a more permanent fashion. Instead of being asked to focus on the joy and celebration of this latest achievement, you are being encouraged to look at the energy of endings. When something occupies your time and space for as long as this has, the completion process feels like a win. But at the same time, you may also be experiencing sensations of loss or disappointment. While this duplexity can feel confusing, we need to honor the transition process that is about to take place as we move from one phase of our life into another. Make sure you grieve properly for any losses or changes that will occur as a result of your latest accomplishment. By honoring where we’ve been in the pieces of ourselves that have gotten us through a situation, we allow ourselves to move forward with more peace and understanding.
Shadow Work Questions:
- What emotions are coming up for me as I complete my latest project or venture?
- What is one thing I can do to honor myself as I move through this transitional space?
- How can I get excited about the next big things coming my way?

February 2023 (5 of Pentacles)
If your life feels like a bad country song, it’s only because you are being redirected to walk another path. Sometimes these redirections cause a lot of upheaval before things can be built up in a more effective and prosperous way. The hardship you’re experiencing seems unfair and frankly you’re not sure how you ended up in this situation. The truth is that you were way too far down a path that was not in your best interests. While it seemed great or even manageable on the surface, what was happening beneath the waves was another story entirely. Don’t waste time focusing on what you did wrong. You were meant to take this detour for a reason. Important areas of self-discovery have taken place because of it. Don’t discount the lessons in the mistakes. You have the opportunity to create something even better than what was. You’ll only have to get through this growth period first. If you can find the strength to persevere, you’ll be happy you didn’t give up.
Shadow Work Questions:
- What can I do to take care of myself emotionally at this time?
- What important lessons have I learned and how can I take these with me into the future?
- How can I support myself and remain motivated as I create new goals?

January 2023 (Celebration)
It’s time to kick up your heels and have some fun and whatever way works best for you. You’ve been avoiding a particular type of social interaction for quite some time. This is your nudge from the Universe to get back on the horse. Something about the situation you stepped away from wasn’t turning out the way you expected. Rarely in life do things go according to plan or end up the way we feel they’re supposed to. Life is full of great successes and disappointments. But due to your secretive nature, you just walked away instead of learning to embrace the joys that were still present. Your challenge is to embrace what’s in front of you “as is.” Accepting that even in difficult times or unexpected circumstances, you can still appreciate the positive aspects. Don’t let your inner Negative Nancy keep you from celebrating all that life has to offer. Even if it comes wrapped in a package that isn’t as perfectly orchestrated as you had hoped.
Shadow Work Questions:
- What can I do to change a disappointing situation into something that is still enjoyable?
- What is it that I have been running away from?
- How are expectations preventing me from seeing a situation for what it really is?
